Haryana government approves SWD project in Gurugram and 45 mld STP in Faridabad

The government of Haryana has approved a stormwater drainage (SWD) project in Gurugram worth Rs 1.05 billion. Further, a 45 million litres per day capacity sewage treatment plant (STP) and a tertiary treatment unit in Faridabad worth Rs 580 million has also been approved.

The scope of work for the SWD includes construction of 18.32 km long reinforced cement concrete SWD drains. Of the total length, 6 km long SWD will be along NH 48 in sector 48 while 10.78 km length will be spread across sectors 76, 77, 78, 79 and 80. The project aims to manage excess water during the rainy season and divert it to Najafgarh drain. The SWD will aid to channel water into the Badshahpur drain and reduce waterlogging in the area.
