The Punjab government has inaugurated an advanced STP in Sector 83 in Mohali, Punjab. The scope of work included the upgradation of the existing 10 million gallon per day (mgd) STP to 15 mgd capacity. The STP deploys advanced nutrient removal technology and will serve as a model for other similar projects in the state. The estimated cost of the project is Rs 1.45 billion.
Central government approves corridors 2A (Vanaz-Chandini Chowk) and 2B (Ramwadi-Wagholi) under the Pune Metro projects. Corridor 2A spans 1.12 km and has two stations in total, whereas corridor 2B spans 11.63 km with 11 stations in total. The projects entail an investment of Rs 36.26 billion which will be equally borne by the state government, the central government and external funding agencies. The project aims to connect key areas like Bavdhan, Kothrud, Kharadi and Wagholi, and work on the same is expected to commence by December 2025.
