According to annual data released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI), India’s broadband subscriber base grew steadily in 2024-25, adding 20.5 million new users to reach 944.12 million by March 2025, reflecting an annual growth rate of 2.17 per cent. This contributed to a total internet subscriber base of 969.1 million, up from 954.4 million a year earlier, an overall growth of 1.54 per cent. Meanwhile, narrowband users stood at 24.98 million during the year.
