The Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 Awards under the Swachh Bharat Mission-Grameen 2.0 were hosted by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs in New Delhi. Indore, Surat, Navi Mumbai and Vijayawada have joined the Super Swachh League Cities 2024-25 for “more than 1 million” population category. Further, Ahmedabad, Bhopal and Lucknow have emerged as leading clean cities, while Prayagraj was recognised as the “Best Ganga Town”. In total, 43 national awards were announced, with a special commendation for Prayagraj’s Mahakumbh. Besides, Secunderabad Cantonment was recognised as the “Best Cantonment Board” for its extraordinary sanitation initiatives, while Visakhapatnam, Jabalpur, and Gorakhpur were recognised as the top “SafaiMitra Surakshit Shehars”. Moreover, 34 cities have been recognised as “Promising Swachh Shehars”. Alongside this, the Swachh City Partnership initiative was launched, which promotes peer mentorship by pairing 78 top-performing cities across all population categories with one underperforming city from their respective states. The Swachh Survekshan 2024-25 results dashboard was also launched, offering insights into city-wise performance.
