Foundation stone laid for MRO hangar cum covered parking facility at Cochin Airport

Cochin International Aviation Services Limited (CIASL) has laid the foundation stone for its third maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) hangar-cum-covered parking facility at the Cochin International Airport, entailing an investment of Rs 500 million. The facility will help develop Kochi into a key aircraft maintenance hub. The hangar is spread over an area of 53,800 square feet, with 7,000 square feet of office and workshop space. It also houses facilities for component repairs and non-destructive testing. Works are expected to be completed within eight months. It is expected to offer services to narrow-body aircraft, business jets, helicopters and seaplanes. The covered aircraft parking facility can accommodate up to 13 narrow-body aircraft.
