With infrastructure development as a top priority, the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) has set a target of road construction projects worth Rs 15 trillion over the next two years. In line with this, the ministry aims to construct 40 km of highways per day in 2025-26. Additionally, the government is permitting 100 per cent foreign direct investment (FDI) in the sector.
Overall, the centre is dedicated to giving its citizens superior infrastructure, as seen with initiatives like the National Infrastructure Pipeline (NIP). Moreover, by 2025, more than 7,300 projects under the NIP will be completed, totalling Rs 111 trillion.
