Indian Railway installs solar power plants with 181 MW capacity between January and June 2025

Indian Railways (IR) installed solar power plants with a total capacity of 181 megawatts (MW) between January and June 2025. As of July 2025, IR has commissioned around 660 MW of solar power capacity (both on rooftops and on land) and 103 MW of wind power capacity.

Further, 100 MW of renewable energy under the round-the-clock (RE-RTC) mode, tied up with the Solar Energy Corporation of India (SECI), is also functional. Furthermore, an additional 1500 MW RE-RTC power capacity has been tied up.
