The union minister of ports, shipping and waterways has inaugurated the 1 mega-watt (MW) green hydrogen power plant at the Deendayal Port, Kandla, on July 31, 2025. Implemented by Larsen & Toubro, the project is capable of producing about 140 metric tonnes of green hydrogen annually.
This 1 MW plant is the first module of a larger 10 MW green hydrogen facility, whose foundation stone was laid in May 2025.
