Indian Railways (IR) sanctioned a total of 237 projects covering 9,703 km, with an overall investment of Rs 1,903.33 billion, during the period 2022-2026 (till date). These include 180 doubling projects, 40 new line projects and 17 gauge-conversion projects.
Additionally, IR sanctioned 892 surveys during this period (614 for doubling, 267 for new lines and 11 for gauge-conversion), covering a total of 61,462 km.
