Banaras Locomotive Works (BLW) has rolled out its 2500th electric locomotive, a WAP-7 class locomotive with 6,000 horsepower (hp) for passenger train operations. This locomotive is equipped with real-time monitoring systems, an air-conditioned (AC) cabin, regenerative braking, and a modified gear ratio for operations at 140 km per hour (kmph).
Besides, it will be delivered to the Krishnarajapuram Loco Shed under the South Western Railway (SWR) zone.
