NCC Limited wins contract for Package CA-232 of Mumbai Metro Line 6

NCC Limited has won a contract worth Rs 22.69 billion for package CA-232 under the Mumbai Metro Phase III Line 6 [Swami Samarth Nagar-Vikhroli (Eastern Express Highway)]. Bids for the same were invited in by Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) in January 2024.

Package CA-232 involves design, manufacture, supply, installation, integration, testing and commissioning of rolling stock, communication-based signalling and train control, telecommunication, platform screen doors systems and depot machinery and plant.

The work is likely to be completed in 24 months including five years of comprehensive maintenance after two years of defect liability maintenance period.

The project involves development of 14.47 km of metro rail, connecting Swami Samarth Nagar to Kanjurmarg via Jogeshwari-Vikhroli link road in Maharashtra with an investment of Rs 67.72 billion. It consists of a total of 13 stations which are entirely elevated. It is being developed by MMRDA on cash-contract mode, with Delhi Metro Rail Corporation Limited being the implementing agency.
