Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited submits proposal for Metro Line 11

The Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited has submitted a detailed proposal for Metro Line 11, for approval from the government of Maharashtra. Spanning about 17 km, the underground Metro Line 11 envisioned as a southern extension of Metro Line 4 (Green Line), will link Anik Depot to the Gateway of India via Nagpada and Bhendi Bazaar, among other stations.

Of the 13 stations along the line, eight stations will be built using cut-and-cover methods and five stations using the New Austrian Tunnelling Method to minimise disruption in congested areas. Estimated to cost around Rs 160 billion, the project anticipates serving nearly 580,000 daily riders by 2031, rising to 869,000 by 2041.
