Brahmapuram bio-CNG plant likely to be commissioned by July-end

The Brahmapuram bio-compressed natural gas (CNG) plant is likely to be commissioned by the end of July 2025.

Currently, trial runs are underway.

Initially, the plant would commence operations at 75 tonnes per day (tpd) processing capacity which would then be expanded to 150 tpd.

The project is being implemented by Bharat Petroleum Corporation Limited (BPCL), Kochi Refinery at Brahmapuram in Kochi, Kerala. The plant would have processing capacity of 150 tpd of biodegradable municipal waste to produce 15 tpd biogas. The biogas would be supplied to BPCL through pipeline.
