A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed between the Bihar government and the Airports Authority of India (AAI) for the development of six regional airports under the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme.
The airports are set to be developed at Madhubani, Birpur (Supaul), Munger, Valmikinagar (West Champaran), Muzaffarpur, and Saharsa.
It would comprise of the creation of civil enclaves and associated infrastructure. The sites have been sanctioned with Rs 250 million each in the first phase.
The move is expected to enhance regional connectivity in the state, and put forth new opportunities for development and investment.
