Ministry of Power launches task force to develop India Energy Stack

The Ministry of Power has launched a task force to develop the India Energy Stack (IES), a unified, secure, and interoperable digital public infrastructure for the energy sector.

The IES is supposed to be the digital backbone for India’s power sector and aimed at integrating renewable energy to enhance distribution company efficiency and delivering transparent and consumer-centric power services. It will offer unique identification for consumers, assets, and transactions, enable real-time consent-based data sharing and provide support seamless integration across systems. As part of the initiative, a 12-month proof of concept will be undertaken in partnership with select utilities to pilot the utility intelligence platform. The pilot will be implemented with dicoms in Mumbai, Gujarat, and Delhi.
