Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited commences third rail testing on Jayadeva-Tavarekere stretch under Bengaluru Metro Project Phase II 

Bangalore Metro Rail Corporation Limited (BMRCL) has commenced third rail testing on the elevated Jayadeva-Tavarekere stretch under the Bengaluru Metro Rail Project Phase II. It is the first technical validation that ensures the reliability and safety of the line.

Post this, BMRCL is likely to conduct signal system validations, test the telecommunications network, and carry out loading trials to assess structural stability under operating conditions.

Besides, the 7.5 km elevated stretch from Kalena Agraha to Tavarekere is likely to be operational by March 2026, whereas the 13.8 km underground stretch from Dairy Circle to Nagawara will be operational by September 2026.

The project involves construction of four extensions and two new lines covering a length of 72.09 km (13.79 km underground and 58.3 km elevated), in Karnataka at an investment of Rs 406.14 billion.
