Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority approves 19 contracts worth Rs 120 billion for Mumbai Metro projects

Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) has approved a total of 19 contracts for various projects worth more than Rs 120 billion. These contracts cover Mumbai metro network comprising systems integration, rolling stock acquisition, traction power supply, civil works, digital monitoring and multi-modal connectivity.

Some of the key contracts include Larsen & Toubro Limited winning the highest Rs 47.88 billion deal for Metro Line 4 and 4A to provide rolling stock, signalling, telecom, platform screen doors and depot equipment along with maintenance for five years. It was also awarded a contract worth Rs 1.89 billion  for track work on the Metro Line 4. The second highest order, for Metro Line 6 was awarded to NCC Limited worth a Rs 22.7 billion contract for rolling stock, telecom, and depot machinery. This was followed by IRCON International Limited who won a contract worth Rs 6.68 billion for traction and electrical and mechanical (E&M) systems for the same line.
