Hilton Metal Forging Limited (HMFL) has received approval from RITES Limited for the feasibility and production capability of forged wheels used in Vande Bharat and Linke-Hofmann-Busch (LHB) coaches. With this, HMFL has become the first private micro, small and medium enterprise (MSME) to be recognised under the Make in India initiative for this capability.
In the financial year (FY) 2025-26, HMFL aims to produce around 3,000 forged railway wagon wheelsets, with plans to scale up production to 12,000 in FY 2026-27.
