Centre flags off first diesel locomotive, manufactured at Marhowra Plant and inaugurates Vande Bharat Express train on Patliputra–Gorakhpur route

The Union Government has flagged off the first state-of-the-art diesel locomotive, with a capacity of 4,500 horsepower (HP), manufactured at the Marhowra Plant in Bihar for export to the Republic of Guinea. These locomotives feature an advanced alternating current (AC) propulsion system, microprocessor-based control systems, ergonomic cab designs, and technologies such as regenerative braking and a distributed power wireless control system (DPWCS).

Additionally, the Union Government has inaugurated a Vande Bharat Express train on the Patliputra-Gorakhpur route, which will run via Muzaffarpur and Bettiah in Bihar.
