RVNL, in collaboration with the Ministry of Railways (MoR), plans to develop a 300 MW hybrid renewable energy project. The project is likely to be established at locations in Bihar, Jharkhand and Karnataka, and is expected to entail an investment of around Rs 15 billion. It will source power from wind and solar energy, and also incorporate energy storage systems to ensure a firm power supply during peak hours, which will then be supplied to railway feeders. Additionally, RVNL will establish transmission lines and lead infrastructure development, while partner firms expected to be engaged in the project will contribute technology, wind energy components and solar modules.
