Hindustan Oil Exploration Company Limited (HOECL) has completed the drilling of the KSG-71 well well in the Kharsang oilfield in Arunachal Pradesh. Currently, the well is under testing, using chokes ranging from 6 mm to 8 mm, and the initial oil production rate is estimated at around 250 barrels per day. HOECL has also commenced drilling of the KSG-72 well. Initially, HOECL plans to drill nine development wells in the block. The Kharsang block covers 10 square kms in the Assam-Arakan basin, Arunachal Pradesh. The block is operated by Geoenpro Petroleum Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HOECL.
