The joint venture (JV) of Afcons Infrastructure Limited and Hindustan Project has won a contract worth Rs 4,635 million for implementation of the Chikhli-Simalwara-Jhonthary-Galiyakot (Dungarpur) Water Supply Project (Package I) in Rajasthan. Bids for the same were invited by the Public Health Engineering Department, Rajasthan in July 2024.
The scope of the project includes construction of a water treatment plant (WTP) of 49 mld capacity, construction of 7 clear water pump houses, 7 (13.5 ml) clear water reservoir for transmission/ rising, 10 (4.4 ml) MBR, 8 (0.55 ml) clear water reservoir, 134 (20.95 ml) elevated-service reservoir and laying and jointing of raw water transmission mains line of 0.234 km, clear water transmission mains line of 130 km and clear water rising mains line of 486 km. It will supply water to 353 villages (Chikhli, Simalwara, Jonthary and Galiyakot block) of District Dungarpur from Kadana Back Water (Mahi Dam).
The work on the project is likely to be completed in 20 months and includes one year defect liability period (DLP) and 10 years of operation and maintenance.
