IndiGo signs MoU with Airbus for 30 A350-900 aircraft

IndiGo signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with Airbus to expand its order for wide-body aircraft by converting 30 aircraft from the purchasing rights for 70 aircraft into a firm order.

The airline earlier placed an order for 30 A350-900 aircraft in April 2024, along with the purchasing rights for an additional 70 aircraft.

With this, the airline now has a total order for 60 wide-body Airbus A350-900 aircraft. Deliveries for the original order are expected to commence in 2027. The aircraft would be powered by Rolls Royce’s Trent XWB engines.

The move would aid the airline in expanding its long-haul international network, enhancing connectivity from metros in India to various international destinations.
