Satna Airport and upgraded Datia Airport at Madhya Pradesh inaugurated 

The newly developed Satna Airport and the upgraded Datia Airport in Madhya Pradesh were inaugurated on May 31, 2025. The move is expected to improve connectivity, and lead to economic and social benefits in the regions.

The Satna Airport was developed at a cost of around Rs 369.6 million. The terminal building spans an area of over 768 square metres, and has peak-hour passenger handling capacity of 50 passengers, and an annual passenger handling capacity of 0.25 million passengers. The airport also features a recarpeted runway, an air traffic control (ATC) tower, and a fire station, among others. It has also adopted sustainability features including 100 per cent LED lighting, solar streetlights, and reuse of treated water for horticulture.

The upgraded Datia Airport entailing Rs 606.3 million features a terminal building spanning 768 square metres. It has a peak-hour passenger handling capacity of 150 passengers, and an annual capacity of 0.25 million passengers. It also features a recarpeted runway, apron bays, etc. in addition to adopting sustainability measures.
