Minister of States for Ports, Shipping and Waterways launches port development projects worth Rs 424.2 million at Deendayal Port

The Minister of States for Ports, Shipping and Waterways (MoPSW) has launched port development projects worth Rs 424.2 million at Deendayal Port on May 28, 2025.

The foundation stone was laid for the extension of a railway line from berth no. 13 to berth no. 16 at Deendayal Port on May 28, 2025. The project involves extension of the railway line by 750 metres to connect berths No. 13, 14, 15, and 16 with Kutch Salt Junction. The foundation stone was also laid for a new seafarer building at Kandla (cargo jetty area).

Besides, a new telescopic gangway has been installed to provide secure and efficient access between vessels and the jetty. A dedicated fire brigade station has been established within the port’s operational zone.
