Construction work commences on water distribution network for filtered water supply across Rajarhat-Gopalpur in Kolkata

The construction work has commenced on the project of establishing water distribution network for filtered water supply across Rajarhat-Gopalpur in Kolkata. The project has been undertaken by the Bidhannagar Municipal Corporation covering wards 1 to 21. Currently, soil testing has been done and work to lay the main distribution lines has commenced.

The project includes 14 overhead tanks, four underground reservoirs and a new distribution network line to supply treated water. The work is likely to be completed in two years. The project will be funded under Atal Mission for Rejuvenation and Urban Transformation (AMRUT).The total cost of the project is Rs 3.33 billion.
