In a notable development, the Government of Delhi has inaugurated piped natural gas (PNG) connections at 111 villages.
Indraprastha Gas Limited (IGL) is the authorised city gas distributor for National Capital Territory of Delhi. It aims to provide connectivity to all 357 villages of Delhi. Under Phase-I, it had provided PNG connections to 130 villages. It plans to provide connections to the remaining 116 villages by December 2025.
Currently, IGL has laid over 13,000 km of gas pipeline and supplies PNG to over 72,000 families across Delhi.
