Ciel & Terre Solar Private Limited, in collaboration with Larsen and Turbo and SJVN Green Energy Limited, has commissioned a 120 MWp floating solar photovoltaic project at Omkareshwar in Madhya Pradesh.
The project is on the Omkareshwar dam reservoir and will supply power to Rewa Ultra Mega Solar Limited. It comprises 14 floating islands of 8.5 MWp capacity each and uses 407,699 Hydrelio aiR OPTIM 1400-3 floats in a three-row configuration. It also features a new ‘rock bolt anchoring’ system, developed by Ciel & Terre’s global research and development team to suit the site’s hard rock conditions, following several years of testing.
