Government of Maharashtra inaugurates BKC – Acharya Atre Chowk stretch under Mumbai Metro Line 3 project

Government of Maharashtra (GoM) inaugurated the 9.6 km Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) – Acharya Atre Chowk stretch under the Mumbai Metro Phase I Line 3 project (Colaba-Bandra- Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ)) on May 9, 2025.

The stretch connects areas like Dharavi, Sheetla Devi Temple, Dadar, Siddhivinayak Temple, Mahim Dargah, Mahim Church, Worli and Acharya Atre Chowk.

Line 3 of Mumbai metro involves the development of an underground metro rail system in Mumbai connecting Colaba to SEEPZ via Bandra covering a distance of 33.5 km with an investment of Rs 372.76 billion. The project, which is being implemented by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited (MMRCL) on engineering, procurement, and construction basis, consists of a total of 27 stations.
