Funding details released for Delhi-SNB Regional Rapid Transit System

The central government is likely to bear Rs 65 billion for the Delhi-Shahjahanpur-Neemrana-Behror (SNB) Regional Rapid Transit System (RRTS) project. Additionally, the state governments of Delhi, Haryana and Rajasthan are likely to bear Rs 19 billion, Rs 44 billion and Rs 0.8 billion, respectively. The remaining Rs 190 billion is likely to be raised via multilateral funding agencies.

The work on project is likely to commence in August 2026 and complete by November 2031 (underground section by August 2030 and elevated section by January 2031). Besides, the consultants and contractors are likely to be appointed before May 2026 and land acquisition to be completed before November 2027. The project spans 102 km and entails investment of Rs 350 billion.

Additionally, the detailed project report (DPR) has been completed for Delhi- SNB RRTS and Delhi-Panipat-Karnal RRTS.

The work on Delhi-Panipat-Karnal RRTS is likely to commence by January 2026 and will be completed by December 2030. The project spans across 136 km and entails investment of Rs 240 billion.
