Himachal Pradesh secures Rs 33.45 billion for over 3000 km of roads and 43 bridges under PMGSY-III

A total of Rs 33.45 billion has been sanctioned to Himachal Pradesh for the construction of 43 bridges and 3,123 km of rural roads under the Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana (PMGSY)-III.

The expenditure incurred under PMGSY during 2024-25 was Rs 9.05 billion by the state, compared to the allocation of Rs 6.50 billion. In light of this performance, the state had formally requested the centre to double the allocation to Rs 13 billion for 2025-26.

Further, under PMSGY-IV, the mapping of 1,560 habitations has been completed. Of these, around 1,115 habitations have been deemed eligible by the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD). The main goal of the programme is to connect settlements with populations of 500 or more in the lowlands and 250 or more in hill states.
