The Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) has given the in-principle approval for the development of greenfield airports at Kota in Rajasthan and Puri in Odisha on May 5, 2025.
The proposed airport in Kota will serve the city and provide connectivity to both domestic and international destinations. The airport would also cater to the growing population and economic activity in the Hadoti region.
The development of an airport at Puri is in line with efforts by the government to enhance the last-mile air connectivity and facilitate air travel accessibility to all. It is expected to provide a boost to religious tourism, regional development, and the overall connectivity in the region.
