The centre has announced plans to undertake road infrastructure projects in Telangana worth Rs 2 trillion over the next 3-4 years. The national highway length in the state has more than doubled in the past 10 years to around 5,000 km. Moreover, recently, the foundation stone was laid for projects worth Rs 39 billion in the Kumram Bheem Asifabad district in Telangana. Work is currently underway in 33 districts. Further, a total of Rs 1.25 trillion worth of work has already been completed thus far.
In addition to opening up to new commerce, tourism, and investment opportunities, the upcoming roads and highway developments will guarantee safer, more seamless connections between Telangana, and neighbouring states of Maharashtra and Andhra Pradesh.
