The Bhubaneswar Metro Phase I project is likely to be extended to the SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack.
Besides, the detailed project report for the same is underway. The union government is likely to provide funding for the extension.
The project involves the construction of a 26 km long elevated metro rail corridor from Trishulia to Bhubaneswar Airport and has 20 stations. It will be implemented by Bhubaneswar Metro Rail Corporation Limited at an estimated cost of Rs 62.25 billion.
