Indian Railways (IR) has planned track renewal across a cumulative 7,900 km of its network during the financial year (FY) 2025-26, which will facilitate faster movement of trains. Further, it aims to increase train speeds to 130 km per hour (kmph) on 3,700 km of its routes.
Besides, IR also plans to construct boundary walls along 11,000 km of its network to enhance safety during the same period.
