Road construction projects worth around Rs 730 billion are currently underway in Himachal Pradesh. The national highway length in the state currently spans 2,592 km. Few projects have been stalled due to delays in clearances.
With a capital expenditure of Rs 430 billion, NHAI is carrying out 68 tunnels and 768 km of highways in the state. The estimated project cost for the Parwanoo-Dhali stretch of the highway amounts to around Rs 79.13 billion, Rs 16.92 billion for the Pinjore-Baddi-Nalagarh stretch, Rs 137.84 billion for the Kiratpur-Manali stretch, Rs 100.67 billion for the Pathankot-Mandi stretch and Rs 105.12 billion for the Shimla-Mataur stretch.
