Panvel-Karjat corridor achieves 70 per cent progress under Mumbai Urban Transport Project Phase III

The Panvel-Karjat corridor has achieved physical progress of about 70 per cent under the Mumbai Urban Transport Project-Phase III.

The Phase III of the project includes quadrupling the Virar-Dahanu section (64 km), development of new suburban railway tracks between Panvel and Karjat (28 km), trespass control on mid-section on 36 priority sections of existing lines of Central and Western Railway, procurement of rolling stock and development of an elevated link from Airoli to Kalwa in Maharashtra.
