The Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA) commenced trial runs on the 5.5 km Diamond Garden–Mandale stretch under the Mumbai Metro Phase I Line 2B project (DN Nagar-Mankhurd-Mandale) on April 16, 2025.
Besides, the civil and electrical works on the project have been completed. Post-trial runs, the Research Design and Standards Organisation and the Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety will commence the final evaluations.
The project will connect DN Nagar, Andheri to Mandale and subsequently to Cheetah Nagar near Trombay in Maharashtra spanning a length of 24.6 km.
