Indian Railways achieves 100 per cent electrification of South Central Railway and Western Railway  zones

Indian Railways (IR) achieved 100 per cent electrification of the South Central Railway (SCR) and Western Railway (WR) zones as of March 31, 2025.

This includes the electrification of the entire broad gauge (BG) network, covering 6,242 route km (rkm) for SCR and 5,914 rkm for WR. With this, IR has fully electrified a total of 14 zones.
