The Amravati Airport in Maharashtra was inaugurated on April 16, 2025. With this, the number of airports in the country stands at 160.
Operations at the airport commenced with the inaugural Amravati-Mumbai Regional Connectivity Scheme (RCS) flight by Alliance Air. The airport earlier received the aerodrome licence from the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) in March 2025, recognising it as an RCS-licenced airport.
The runway currently spans 1,850 metres, and is expected to be expanded to reach 3,000 metres, facilitating the operation of all types of aircraft.
The airport is expected to benefit the Vidarbha region and boost connectivity and commerce.
