V. O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port has introduced a concession scheme on vessel-related charges to promote coastal container trade. The concession scheme applies to coastal container vessels directly calling at the port from Gujarat and West Bengal, provided they discharge at least 50 per cent of their total containers at VOC Port.
Depending on the number of voyages, vessels can avail of concessions ranging from 40 per cent for up to 24 voyages, 45 per cent for 25 to 39 voyages, and 50 per cent for 40 voyages and above. The scheme is effective from April 14, 2025, to October 13, 2025.
