Hisar Airport witnesses commencement of commercial flight operations and laying of foundation stone for new terminal building

The first commercial flight from the Maharaja Agrasen Airport at Hisar in Haryana, to Ayodhya in Uttar Pradesh was flagged off on April 14, 2025. A foundation stone for a new terminal building at the airport was also laid.

The new terminal building is expected to entail an investment of more than Rs 4.1 billion, and is part of the Ude Desh ka Aam Nagrik (UDAN) scheme. It would feature a state-of-the-art passenger terminal, a cargo terminal, and an air traffic control (ATC) building. Works for the same are expected to be completed in around two years.

In addition to the flight operation to Ayodhya, the airport will also connect Jammu, Ahmedabad, Jaipur, and Chandigarh.

The initiatives mark a notable step in enhancing the air connectivity in Haryana, and in making the airport a regional hub.
