V.O. Chidambaranar (VOC) Port has initiated dredging operations at its north cargo berth-III to facilitate the docking of vessels with a draft of up to 14.20 metres. The project will also include dredging of the turning circle to expand its diameter from 488 metres to 550 metres.
Additionally, the port plans to reclaim 12.5 hectares of land for cargo storage, effectively converting waste into usable infrastructure.
