Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety commences inspections on Bandra Kurla Complex – Acharya Atre Chowk stretch under Mumbai Metro Line 3 project

Commissioner of Metro Rail Safety (CMRS) has commenced preliminary inspections of the 9.77 km Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC) – Acharya Atre Chowk stretch under the Mumbai Metro Phase I Line 3 project (Colaba-Bandra- Santacruz Electronics Export Processing Zone (SEEPZ)).

The CMRS team is likely to evaluate the civil works including tracks and electrical systems along with emergency protocols and other safety measures.

Besides, operations on Aarey-Cuffe Parade are likely to commence by July 2025.

Line 3 of Mumbai Metro involves the development of an underground metro rail system in Mumbai connecting Colaba to SEEPZ via Bandra covering a distance of 33.5 km with an investment of Rs 372.76 billion. The project, which is being implemented by Mumbai Metro Rail Corporation Limited on engineering, procurement, and construction mode, consists of a total of 27 stations.
