Update on projects under modernisation pillar of the Sagarmala Programme

Under the modernisation pillar of the Sagarmala Programme, a total of 234 projects with an estimated investment of approximately Rs 2.91 trillion have been undertaken for implementation across various coastal states and union territories. Of these, 103 projects valued at Rs 326.34 billion have already been completed, while 56 projects worth Rs 747.44 billion are currently under implementation. These initiatives are being carried out by multiple agencies including central ministries, the Inland Waterways Authority of India, Indian Railways, state governments, and major ports.

As of April 4, 2025, the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has undertaken 119 projects with partial funding support at a total cost of Rs 94.07 billion, under Sagarmala Programme. Of these, 72 projects have been successfully completed.
