V.O. Chidambaranar Port is upgrading its oil jetty by adding new berthing dolphins to accommodate vessels up to 55,000 deadweight tonnage (DWT), enhancing capacity and operational efficiency. At present, the port is capable of handling 40,000 DWT vessels.
Besides, these new berthing dolphins will facilitate the berthing of vessels with an overall length of less than 150 metres.
