Indian Railways commissions 756 MW of renewable power capacity by February 2025 

Indian Railways (IR) has commissioned renewable power with a capacity of 756 megawatts (MW) as of February 2025. This includes 533 MW of solar power from rooftop and land installations, 103 MW of wind power, and 100 MW of round-the-clock (RTC) power from hybrid (solar plus wind) sources.

Additionally, IR has achieved the electrification of 64,982 route km (rkm), which accounts for 97.64 per cent of its total broad-gauge networks as of February 28, 2025.
