IREDA issues Rs 12.47 billion perpetual bonds to strengthen tier-I capital

The Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) has launched its first-ever perpetual bonds worth Rs 12.47 billion at an annual coupon rate of 8.40 per cent to optimise its capital structure and leverage favorable market conditions.

The bond issuance is a strategic move to enhance IREDA’s Tier-I capital, reinforcing its financial foundation to support India’s growing green energy infrastructure. Additionally, IREDA has received a Rs 0.24 billion tax refund from the income tax department for assessment year 2011-12, with a Rs 1.95 billion refund under process for assessment years 2010-11, 2012-13, 2013-14, and 2015-16 to 2018-19.
