Indian Railways (IR) has deployed 5,743 km of optical fibre for KAVACH as of February 2025. The progress on KAVACH during this period includes the installation of 540 telecom towers, 3,727 route km (rkm) of trackside equipment, and provision of KAVACH in 795 locomotives and 664 stations. Notably, IR has utilised Rs 19.5 billion for KAVACH works as of March 19, 2025.
Additionally, contracts have been awarded for 1,865 rkm out of the total 15,000 rkm of trackside works, for which bids have already been invited by IR.
