Pune Municipal Corporation proposes to set up WTP in Sinhagad Road area, Pune

The Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) has proposed to construct a water treatment plant (WTP) in the Sinhagad Road area in Pune, Maharashtra. The estimated cost of the WTP with a capacity to treat 100 million litres per day of water is Rs 2.5 billion. It is expected to be commissioned soon.

This initiative aims to enhance the quality of drinking water and mitigate the surge in the cases of Guillain-Barré syndrome, especially in Dhayari, Khadakwasla, Kirkatwadi, Nandoshi and Nanded areas. Additionally, PMC has installed chlorination units at the wells in Barangani Mala and Nanded, to ensure the cleaning of water before being supplied to the distribution lines.
